Welcome to Downstage Write!

Set up to try and provide a diverse community of reviewers of local theatre, we’re a group of theatre lovers who want to share our thoughts on the productions we see.

We’re theatre lovers who see a LOT of theatre, and want everyone else to know what they should be watching.

We’re not “writers”, we’re not “reviewers”. We’re all audiences, and we know that audience feedback is one of the top drivers of ticket sales for am dram, community and professional theatre worldwide. So we’ve created a community of interested parties that want to tell us more about the shows they’ve seen.

We don’t expect our pieces to follow the typical press review structure – we want honest, no-nonsense takes on productions. They don’t have to be long – a short, sharp take is just as valid as 500 words!
